Just Trying to Help!
Dear friends,
Just the other day I was shaving in my bathroom at home when I noticed a small spider in the tub. He was trying to climb out, but of course the slick walls made it impossible. He tried over and over and over. While impressed with his fortitude, I felt to lend a hand (and a jar).
But as I got near him, trying to coax him into the open jar, he frantically ran away. It took me quite a few tries before I got him to fall into the open mouth. A few times I thought and felt, "Come on! I'm trying to help you."
Then the irony crossed my mind. How many times do we run from God, afraid of whatever it is Spirit is trying to manifest right in front of us? We simply do not know what is coming, and like that small spider, scurry away assuming nothing good is at hand. The world looks markedly different if we assume a positive outcome rather than giving in to our fears. Cultivating that attitude tends to draw positive results, unexpected opportunities, and what is often called "luck."
May we each lead our lives with our nose pressed against the glass and a positive expectation of what adventure is coming next, be it a blessing or a strength-building challenge.
Blessings,
